Thanks for visiting our Algae-X page. If you are considering an Algae-X unit we would like to be sure you get off on the right foot. If your tanks have been sitting for a long while it is highly recommended that you give your tank a double dose of AFC-705 fuel additive, one ounce treats 40 gallons. After you run that tank out and refuel, place a normal dose and you’re set for 6 months! Unless you get an unusually bad batch of fuel, then you will want to dose it. If your tanks and fuel are really bad you may need to do a second tank with a double dose. Once you have it cleaned up the tank and lines the Algae-X unit will keep up just fine with polishing your fuel. Don’t forget the AFC-705 is great for gasoline too. I use it in my dingy, lawn mower, chain saw and the cars. It does a great job where ever you use fuel – gas or diesel.
